Well, CLAP is co-initiated by Bitwig, and when I look at their MIDI controller implementation (the refusal to use a2j resources) I'm not very optimistic.Harrison, the manufacturer of world-class analog and digital consoles, is proud to announce Mixbus(tm) with True Analog Mixing(tm) for OS X. I did try PW a while back and it worked quite well except for one niggle that made me switch back.

It took me ages of trial and research to get that working although it serves me well now once I sorted it out. There are reports on Linux Musicians forums of people using it successfully and preferring it to the old PA > JACK > ALSA mindfuck that currently is the go-to for serious music production. It is intended to help alleviate (note I didn't say solve) current issues with Linux audio which are a confusing mess currently, and may actually do so with only a bit more development.
